Sustainable tourism is a green growth opportunity for
Southern and Eastern Africa. To safeguard nature as a
resource for this sector, governments need to ensure
that low-income communities are included in the conservation
of wildlife and landscapes essential to the tourism
product. To do this, governments need to support enterprises
and intermediaries that create synergies between
tourism, conservation and community participation.
